Health Committee
The Boston Urban Asthma Coalition's Health Committee supports public health
policy initiatives that eliminate health disparities and improves access to
quality health care for children with asthma, ages 0 -18, and their families.
The Health Committee brings together parents, community organizations, and professionals from the medical and education fields to advocate for changes that will ensure families have access to educational and healthcare resources. The Committee is working to expand access to asthma education, raise public awareness, promote surveillance measures that identify urban children with asthma and their demographics and incidence patterns, as well as encourage adherence to clinical practice guidelines. By influencing public policy issues at the governmental level, the Health Committee improves the health and quality of life of children and families with asthma.
